Antonia Ruggieri

Antonia Ruggieri, 93, of Spotsylvania County died Monday, May 6, 2013 at Hughes Home.Mrs. Ruggieri was a native of San Miguel, Italy and moved to Norwalk, Connecticut at the age of 35 where she worked at Norwalk Hospital. She had resided in the Fredericksburg area for the last 26 years.Mrs. Ruggieri was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and volunteered at the St. Matthew Thrift Shop. She also volunteered for the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Ruggieri, fondly referred to as Nonna, was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ruggieri; and daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Ruggieri.Survivors include her son, David Ruggieri (Jeannine) of Spotsylvania; three grandchildren, Michael Ruggieri (Lori) of Myrtle Beach, Sarah Ruggieri and daughter Elizabeth of Spotsylvania, and Matthew Ruggieri of Myrtle Beach; and numerous other family members.A Rosary will be held at 6pm Thursday, May 9 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg with visitation to follow until 8 pm.A mass of Christian celebration will be held at 10 am Friday, May 10 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Matthew Thrift Store, c/o St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8200 Robert E.
