Dale Scott Hitt Sr., 54, of Spotsylvania County, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Hitt enjoyed playing horseshoes, putt-putt golf, pool, darts and fishing. He also loved being with his family, boys and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years Ethel “Tooky” Hitt; sons Robert Glenn Hitt and wife Sara, Richard Stephen Hitt and Christopher Michael Hitt; mother Dorothy Taylor Hitt; brothers Richard B. Hitt Jr., Gary T. Hitt Sr., Timothy B. Hitt Sr. and Randall W. Hitt Sr.; sisters Bonnie G. Kranick, Gloria J. Tribby; Penny M. Rodgers and Carolyn K. Pitts; and grandchildren Alexis, Tyler, Jordan, Reese, Allysa and Landon. He was preceded in death by his son Dale S. Hitt Jr.; father Richard Byrd Hitt Sr.; and brother Steven G. Hitt.
A funeral service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, September 25 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm, Monday, September 24 at the funeral home.
