Local musician and business owner, David Wilson, 61, passed away early Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, after an 18-month battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife and companion of 32 years, Angela Wilson of Stafford; sister Linda Hughes of Salisbury, NC; several nieces and nephews; two great-nephews; his beloved dogs Angus and Atticus Finch; a large extended family; and many friends and colleagues.
Over the last 20-plus years, Dave Wilson was the owner/operator of WilSound Audio. He provided sound services for many local events, including the Fourth of July at Pratt Park in Fredericksburg, fashion shows for Saks Jandel in Washington, D.C., Portfolio in Motion at Marymount University, and many special and corporate events around the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
Dave was a musician who played with local bands Capitol Rockers and dwi. He also traveled extensively with national acts Black Oak Arkansas, and The Back Doors. Most recently, he worked as a sound engineer for numerous bands in the area.
Friends may pay respects to the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.
The family wishes to thank Virginia Hospice, Dr. Cannon and the entire staff at Hematology Associates of Fredericksburg and the faculty and staff of North Stafford High School for all of their support.
Dave’s ashes will be scattered in his beloved mountains of North Carolina at a later date.
