Dolores Westerkamp

Dolores Westerkamp, 92, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away after a short illness at her home in Chancellor's Village on Saturday, January 24, 2015.

She was born in Chicago, IL. As the wife of a career Air Force officer, Dolores enjoyed living in the Philippines, Japan, Florida, Omaha, Madrid, and Washington DC. In retirement, they moved to Indian Rocks Beach, FL, where she lived happily for 35 years. Dolores moved to Fredericksburg one year ago, where she was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; son James Westerkamp; and son-in-law Oscar DeWitt.Survivors include her daughter, Joan DeWitt; sister Dorothy Wegmann; six granddaughters, Michelle Jones (Floyd), Christine Sielski (Bill), Jennifer Jordan (Bill), Tona Valakis (Jason), Jill DeWitt, and Jessica Deheza; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.A funeral mass at St. Patrick followed by a burial at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
