Herbert Hughes

Herbert C. Hughes, 75 of Fredericksburg died Thursday February 22, 2007 at home with his family. He grew up in New Hampshire and was a graduate of New England College and Syracuse University. He served in the US Army and worked his entire career for IBM retiring as a tax manager in 1989. Herb was a lifetime member of the Elks.

He is survived by his 4 children; Kevin Hughes, Brian Hughes, Karen Hughes, and Valerie Williams; their mother, Loraine Hughes; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Molly, Emma, Megan, Matthew, and Allison; two sisters, Alice Ordway and Beverly Hughes.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 PM on Sunday February 25 at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg with a Christian Wake Service at 7:30 PM. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday February 26 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Spotsylvania with Father John J. Riley officiating.
