Marion Janet Cox, 79, of Falmouth died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital.Mrs. Cox was a member of Falmouth Baptist Church where she served as church hostess, and was a founder of the funeral reception ministry. Mrs. Cox retired after 23 years as the cafeteria manager at Drew Middle School. She received her degree as a nutritionist.Mrs. Cox was devoted to her family and was a beloved "Nannie." She has now gone to Heaven to be with the love of her life, her late husband, Carl H. Cox.Survivors include her three children, Dona Banks (Steve), Pam Banks (Greg) and Chuck Cox; three brothers, Gary, Alfred and Michael Payne; her sister, Gloria Chittum; six grandchildren, Reece Banks (Brandi), Chris Cox (Jennifer), Allen Cox (Heather), Taft Banks (Leesa), Ashton Banks and Tommy Cox; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Falmouth Baptist Church.
