James Edmond "Jimmie" Crouse, 71, a longtime resident of the Tylerton subdivision in Stafford County passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Mary Washington Hospital surrounded by his loving family.Mr. Crouse was a retired general contractor who built custom homes in the King George area. He was a member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church and the Baraca Bible Class. He was also a member of the Fredericksburg Eagles Lodge, National Wild Turkey Association, King George Hunt Club and Belle Plains Boat Club.Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gladys S. Crouse, who he married July 1, 1960; three daughters, Theresa C. Walters of Stafford County, Tina C. Rhea and husband John of Stafford County and Janey C. Terry and husband Bill of Staunton; six grandchildren, James, Brittany, Jai-leah, John Michael, Tucker and Hayden; sister, Virginia Brooks of King George; brother Frankie Crouse of King George; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by brother, Harvey Ward; sisters, Lila Stevens and Frances Ward.A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.Memorials may be made to the Bluefield College, Student Emergency Fund, 3000 College Drive, P. O. Box 24, Bluefield, VA 24605.
