Linda Tucker

Linda Virginia Tucker, 75, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at her home.Survivors include her children, Chris Asmus, Don Sears and Kerry Miller; a brother Frank Cooper; six grandchildren Kristin, John, Trey, Erin, Bryce and Jay. She was the widow of Bruce Tucker.Linda attended Pomona College, where she sung in the Glee Club. This is where she met her future second husband, Bruce Tucker. After college, Linda became a teacher, teaching several years in the Los Angeles area, and also one year in England, where she met her first husband, Don Sears. She and Don raised three children in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida: Chris, Donnie, & Kerry. Linda dedicated herself to her family and the upbringing of her kids. She was an incredibly loving mother, full of creativity, compassion and nurture and was also an amazing chef. Linda reunited with Bruce in 1986 and relocated to Gaithersburg, Maryland. Bruce and Linda enjoyed 15 years of marriage before Bruce's passing. She then moved to the Fredericksburg area to be closer to her eldest daughter, Chris.When Linda was not busy visiting her friends and family, she enjoyed working with arts and crafts as well as interior decorating. Her delicious cooking and gracious hosting always kept her household well occupied, making her home a central gathering place over many holidays and occasions. Linda also had a love of pets, including along the way cats, dogs, birds, fish, hamsters, rabbits and even an adopted wallabee.With her enormous heart and kind spirit, Linda has touched many people over the years. Those who knew her, even those who met her recently, will attest to how connected and special they felt with her, and how much her life has inspired theirs. She has a cherished place in all of our hearts.A memorial celebration will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb 8 at her home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division Inc., 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 .
