What a great blessing to have been able to lend a hand to such a great man. I know how much he loved life, travel, family and sharing some good old Texas conversation. I sure will miss stirring him up “early” and sharing a smile or two. Rest in peace and enjoy restored health!

To the Mahoney Family: Jim’s death comes as a shock and our hearts our sad for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

Jim always talked about people who were instrumental at such important stages of his life. He called them angels and he always was grateful and thankful for them. He was so proud of his military service and often spoke about significant moments. He was a wonderful and accomplished singer and once again, he spoke of times he sang for this Cardinal or sang for that Bishop. He spoke of the dogs and cats he adopted, welcomed in his home and cared for. He loved them all and said good things about them even if they chewed up his couch. He always talked about his family and loved his grandsons and was very proud of them.

Jim had a rosary with him all the time and said he was praying for us and for many others. I remember him telling me one day he was pulled over by a police officer for speeding and when the officer approached him and saw Jim with his rosary and crutches in the back seat, the officer let him go because the officer either felt sorry for Jim or Jim scared the heck out of the officer.

Jim always had a story. He was approachable and loving. His heart was bigger than Texas and never selfish.

It was difficult to see Jim leave Colorado but we knew he was happy to be with his family.

I am so grateful for Jim, an angel in my life, and in the lives of our choir at St. Pius X Church in Pueblo, Colorado. We have so many wonderful memories and will never forget Jim’s contribution to our choir and in our lives. We are lucky and blessed to have had such a wonderful man in our presence and to have known Jim.

    RIP Jim Mahoney.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences in the recent loss of your loved one. Keep close at heart the good times you shared and the great memories you made, as they will get you through this very difficult time. Know that you gave your father/grandfather a wonderful opportunity to share time with family over the past several months. He is at peace now. May God bring all of you comfort.

Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. My mother Gisela worked for James Mahoney at the 26. Medical Illustration in Landstuhl / Germany in the mid sixties. She often spoke of him as a loving, caring, and deeply religious man who had a magnetic personality.

With time, may your sorrow be replaced by warm memories of him and all the love he showed so many. We regret we lost contact after he left Germany and we are open to future communication.
    With deep sympathy,

Ulrich Burger, my wife Heidi and
    mother, Gisela Martin (former Burger)

I was sad and surprised to find Jim’s passing. We had many happy years together. We were together for about twelve years and I was his second wife for over four. He will be missed, I know. Jimmy, I’d love to hear from you and Vickie.
