Madeline Brown

Madeline Brown, 92, of Spotsylvania County passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at her home.Mrs. Brown was a member of Encounter Church of God. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sewing and watching baseball games on TV. Madeline was also an excellent homemaker and a "nanny" to many including little children in the neighborhood who were looking for love, attention or a cookie.Survivors include her children B. Leon Brown Jr. (Lenore Colin) and Phoenicia Eilert; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Buford L. Brown Sr.; and granddaughter Donna Suzanne Wicker.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.Memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Virginia Foundation, 1700 Bayberry Court, Suite 300, Richmond, VA 23226.
