Tribute

God only takes the best and this earthly angel has earned his golden wings for eternity. Mitchell Edward Bradman, 57, departed this life on Tuesday, July 9, at VCU Medical Center. He was a 1974 graduate of Stafford High School where he played drums in the band. After graduation, he immediately began a long life of travel to Northern VA for work. Until he was forced into early retirement in 2008 due to health issues, he worked as a hardware technician for General Dynamics. In his spare time, he enjoyed remodeling as a hobby. Mitch endured a life of illness due to congenital heart problems. He always met his challenges with the spirit of a true fighter. His love of life and persistence to beat the odds earned him the respect of others. He amazed his physicians with his strong will as he surpassed the life expectancy of pulmonary hypertension. A truly giving person, his main concern in life was his family. He hated the fact that he could no longer work. As always, he wanted to provide a good life for others. His primary focus was his wife and making her life less stressful. A life cut short too soon, he overcame his many obstacles, but he leaves behind a legacy for others: the perfect husband in a happy marriage of 36 years, loving dad, and \"paw-paw.\" For that, he has earned his righteous place in God's kingdom.Survivors include his wife of 36 yrs., Debra A. Bradman of Fredericksburg; daughters Christina Bradman and her companion, Chris of Spotsylvania and Rebecca Pollok and her husband, Tony of Fauquier; mother, Marion Ruth Bradman of North Carolina; sister, Deborah Ayo and her husband, Dave; twin brother Michael Bradman, of North Carolina; brother-in-law, William Halterman Jr. and his wife, Lois of Springfield; grandchildren Courtney, Justin, and Wyatt; and a special niece and nephew, Ashley Miller and Trey Sisk; and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.A service will be held at noon Monday, July 15, at the funeral home chapel.
