Sheri Smith Meteyer, 47, of Haymarket died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Mrs. Meteyer was a native of Spotsylvania County. She was a graduate of Courtland High School and James Madison University. Mrs. Meteyer worked as the Program Manager for General Dynamics. She was an avid equestrian and loved flowers and plants.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Meteyer and daughter, Erin Danielle Meteyer, her parents, Charles and Janet Justice of Spotsylvania; as well as numerous extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, August 23 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 24 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.

    I worked with Sheri in Fredericksburg. She and I were the only employees, and we spent many days together in the office, and on occasion out of the office. We had not spoken since approx 2009, but I can say when we did she was very happy with her life that she was so deserving of – her wonderful husband and her so cherished daughter.
