Steven Hitt

Steven Glenn Hitt, 56, of Fredericksburg, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Hitt was a member of the Eagles Lodge #4123 and an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and NASCAR.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Elizabeth Hitt of Spotsylvania County; his daughter, Tammy Lynn Sullivan of Fredericksburg; his brothers, Richard B. Hitt, Jr. and his wife, Vickie of Spotsylvania, Gary T. Hitt, Sr. of Spotsylvania, Dale S. Hitt, Sr., and his wife, Tooky of Spotsylvania, Tim B. Hitt, Sr. and his wife, Cherie of Bowling Green and Randolph W. Hitt, Sr. and his wife, Laura of Spotsylvania; his sisters, Bonnie G. Kranick of Spotsylvania, Gloria J. Tribby of Spotsylvania, Penny M. Rodgers, and her husband, Clarence of Spotsylvania and Carolyn K. Pitts and her husband, Johnny of Fredericksburg; his adopted sister, Sally Waddington of Spotsylvania; two grandchildren, Richard Perry and Brianna Perry; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Byrd Hitt, Sr. and a son, Richard Glenn Hitt.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 25 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg with the Rev. Jason Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard B. Hitt, Jr., Gary T. Hitt, Sr. Dale S. Hitt, Sr., Tim B. Hitt, Sr., Randolph W. Hitt, Sr., Richard B. Hitt, III, John D. Pitts and Brent Adams.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Sunday, October 24 at the funeral home.
