Thomas Burks Hoover, 66, of Spotsylvania County, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Hoover was a member of Grace Church of Fredericksburg where he was part of the Alter Ministry. He was a man of prayer.
Survivors include his wife Joan M. Hoover; son Michael T. Hoover and wife GeeGee, of Reston; daughter Denise A. Hoover of NJ; mother Sarah B. Hoover of Los Altos, CA; brother Edward Hoover III; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm, Wednesday, August 15 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 11am, Thursday, August 16 at Grace Church of Fredericksburg with the Rev. Ernest Custalow officiating. Interment will follow in Confederate Cemetery, Spotsylvania.
Memorials may be made in his name to Grace Church of Fredericksburg, 1141 Heatherstone Dr., Fredericksburg, VA 22407, to the Thurman Brisben Homeless Shelter, 471 Central Rd., Fredericksburg, VA 22402 or to the Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace, 4430 Lee Hill School Dr., Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
Joani, I am sorry to hear of Tom’s passing, but take comfort knowing he is with the Lord. It was a blessing to me and my family to have known Tom, a true man of God. May he rest in eternal peace with our Lord Jesus Christ. Christopher, Stephanie and myself will keep you in our prayers in this difficult time for you and your family. So sorry to hear of the loss of one of our IT brethren. I did not know Tom, but he was a member of an organization I am involved with and they just published the news.

So Sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. He was a man of great character. We talked on several occasions as we were both colleagues in the Computer Industry. Tom will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.
