Carroll F. Jordan

November 28, 1947 ~ April 20, 2024 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

Carroll F. Jordan, 76, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed on to eternity on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at home surrounded by her family following a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. While Carroll’s presence in our lives will be missed immensely, we take comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and has been reunited with her beloved son and mother. A reunion that will provide comfort and fulfillment until such time as we all meet again.

Carroll was a kind, generous, and empathic soul. The status quo did not appeal to Carroll, she was always determined to combat the injustices in this life. On more than one occasion she shared her thoughts and opinions in the public forum and so enjoyed a good debate. Carroll never wavered even in the face of adversity, she always moved forward with dignity and courage. She brought solace to other parents that had lost children by sharing her own loss and focusing on their pain; providing them insights on how to manage grief and finding a sense of peace. A more illuminating side of Carroll was her love of numbers, she absolutely loved crunching the numbers; be it in the professional realm as a successful small business owner of a tax and accounting firm or when calculating her winnings at the casino.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, J. Kevin Brent; daughters Kelly R. Hodge and Stephanie C. Jordan; grandson Dustin T. Hodge; sisters Sherry G. Rice and Joy A. Madison; brother Steven D. Carr; and special niece Michelle D. Dyson.

Carroll was the daughter of the late Doris “Peggy” Way and Lewis “Doug” Carr. In addition to her parents, Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Ray William Jordan, Sr.; and son Ray William Jordan, Jr.

Mama – know that you did right by your children and your memory is blessed for when your children remember you, they will do so with smiles on their faces and with good things in their hearts!

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
