Brian Lee Strobel, 64, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012.

Mr. Strobel had retired from WFLS as a radio D.J. since 1977. After retirement, he worked Sundays for Thunder Radio, doing a morning gospel show and an afternoon show called \"30 Years in the Country.\" He also worked for Peace of Mind Pet Care Agency. Mr. Strobel was active in local churches including the United Church of Christ. He was also a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church. His wife, Jennifer Miller Strobel, is a writer with The Free Lance-Star, where the two first met.

In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his children, Nathan and Noah; brother Norman Strobel Jr.; two nephews; a niece and one great nephew. He was the son-in-law of Curtis Miller of Fredericksburg.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 11 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 12 at the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Building Fund, Box 179, Fredericksburg, VA 22404.
