Brian Joseph Young

Brian Joseph Young, age 47, died on Wednesday May 13, 2020 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA following complications after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest on April 20th. He was born in Delaware County, PA on June 15, 1972 to Fran Young and Nancy Milligan Young. He was a resident of Stafford, VA since 2003.

 Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife Diane Augustauskas, his children Katie, Chris and Aiden and he will be forever remembered by his siblings Sean Young, Shannon Slovensky (John “Slo”) and Matt Young (Taylor).  He will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many dear friends.

 Brian was a 1990 graduate of West Springfield High School in Fairfax County, VA. He served proudly on active duty in the United States Army and for many years in the New Jersey National Guard as an M1 Armor Crewman. Brian was a long time dedicated employee of Sherwin Williams Paints and more recently Spectrum Paints in Stafford, VA. Brian had a love of sports that included Notre Dame Football and all Philadelphia sports teams. He was a Civil War and World War II history buff and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Brian was a dedicated family man to his wife and children and his greatest joy was sharing in their interests. His three children hold a special place in his heart and he was extremely proud of their accomplishments and never missed an opportunity to be involved in their lives by teaching life values, coaching their team or simply playing in the back yard. 

 Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at Covenant Funeral Home in Stafford, VA.

 A private burial will immediately follow at Quantico National Cemetery

 A celebration of life for Brian will take place at a later date.
