August 12, 1977 ~ December 25, 2023 (age 46) 46 Years Old
It is with great sorrow to announce the sudden passing of Cara MacKenn Wolfe, 46, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Cara passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 after a short battle with a bacterial infection.
She was born August 12, 1977 to Jack and Mickey MacKenn in Hershey, Pennsylvania which directly correlates to her enduring love of chocolate. Cara attended Virginia Tech University and remained a lifelong Hokies fan. She graduated from Strayer University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Cara had a career in defense contracting at ManTech, CACI, and I.D.A. More recently, she worked in several medically related positions, most recently as a Pharmacy Tech at CVS. She previously lived in Charlottesville, Virginia, and moved back to her hometown in Fredericksburg in 2022. Cara attended St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
Cara loved her family and enjoyed playing board games with her two children Natalie and Declan, as well as cheering them on at their year-round soccer games. Her favorite activities included crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, listening to music, and refer(ing) to palindromes at every opportunity.Cara is survived by her daughter Natalie; and son Declan; her mother Mickey MacKenn; and sisters Debbie Cramer and husband John of Springfield, Christine Mackiewicz and husband Mike of Dallas, PA; six nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cara was predeceased by her father Jack and her Grandparents Eaton and Grandparents MacKenn, whom she now joins in Heaven.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A Mass of Christian celebration will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, followed by burial service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg.
