Carl Durgan

Carl Eugene Durgan, 49 of Stafford, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, after a long battle with brain cancer.

Carl was born on May 11, 1960 to Edward and Agnes Durgan in Malone, NY. He was raised in Moira with his 6 brothers and sisters and attended St. Regis Falls High School. He relocated to Virginia in his early twenties and had been employed for the last several years for Home Depot in Stafford, VA which he very much enjoyed. Carl was a gentle and loving man. He was a life member of North America Hunting and Fishing Club. An avid Nascar fan, Mark Martin was his favorite racer. He collected and enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour western novels.

Carl is predeceased by both of his parents and is survived by his six loving sisters and brothers: Brenda MacBryde and her husband, Ned of Spotsylvania County, VA; Mae Niles of Massena, NY; Sheila Bordeau and her husband, Bucky of Watertown, NY; Edward Durgan of Malone, NY; Joseph Durgan of Upper Jay, NY; and Sandra Seguin and her husband, David of Norfolk, NY, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and 13 Great-nieces and -nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lee Berlad; Jeannie Prodigalidad, R.N; and Catalina Whitley, R.N., and the wonderful staff in the ICU at Mary Washington Hospital for their tireless efforts in lovingly caring for our brother in his final months.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 26 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
