Carlton Anthony Fulmore

October 28, 1965 ~ July 19, 2022 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Tribute

Carlton Anthony Fulmore, 56, passed away peacefully in his home from a rare form of cancer on July 19th, 2022.

Carl was born in Newport News, VA, on October 28th, 1965, to Betty Faye Jackson. At the young age of three years old, he lost his mother in a house fire. Ronald "Ron" George Fulmore, Sr. rescued Carl and his brother Ronald "George" Fulmore from the fire, and Ron later adopted Carl. Ron Fulmore married the late Vicki Prevatte Fulmore in 1972, and they had a daughter named Donna Lynn Warren Beard. As a teenager, Carl enjoyed swimming and playing football. After graduating from high school in 1984, he attended Columbus State University and obtained his B.A. in Political Science.

In the late '80s, Carl joined the U.S. Army. In the early '90s, he joined the Special Forces. Carl led soldiers into combat operations and consistently executed his missions with the highest degree of planning, precision, and care for the safety of those under his command. Carl served his country for over 20 years, retiring honorably at the rank of Major. He later transitioned into the private sector, where he was instrumental in managing Army programs that would enhance soldier survivability. His sharp sense of humor and exceptional work ethic made him a pleasure to work with.

Carl was a man of great character, conviction, and determination with notable career achievements. He was a dedicated husband and father and loved his family, including his wife Kara Christine Fulmore and four children; Nathaniel Anthony Fulmore, Kaitlyn Anastasia Fulmore, Chandler Kent Fulmore, and Maria Annalise Fulmore. He had extreme pride in Nathan's career path in the Air Force and admired Kaitlyn for paving her way in journalism. Although his time with Kara was brief, he often remarked that he had never experienced unconditional love like he had with her. He considered himself blessed to have had the opportunity to become a father again to Chandler and Maria, who made him feel young again.

Family and friends will hold a funeral service at 11:00 am on Monday, August 8th, 2022, at Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church.
