Catherine E. Ponton

Catherine E. Ponton, 82, of Spotsylvania County passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her home.

Catherine was a lifelong resident of Spotsylvania County. She was a member of Round Oak Baptist Church and was a staff member for Dr. Leroy Essig for over twenty years.

Survivors include her children, Darrell Ponton (Trena), Mark Ponton (Beverly), and Steve Ponton (Becky); grandchildren C.W. Ponton, Allison Ponton, and Meghan Ponton; and sister Brenda Hertsch (Ray). She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Ponton; and brothers Charles Hatchel and David Hatchel.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Round Oak Baptist Church, 15025 Pepmeier Hill Rd, Woodford, VA 22580. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Round Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
