Cecelia Barbara Guilfoyle

Barbara “Bobbie” Guilfoyle, 92, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Crossings at Falls Run.

Barbara was born on March 25, 1926 in Newark, N.J. She lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and finally in Virginia. Barbara graduated from nursing school in 1947 and went on to be an emergency room nurse and then a generalist for many years. She donated countless hours of volunteer work in the healthcare field, particularly in the area of mental health. Barbara was married in 1948 to Richard Guilfoyle and he passed away in 1991.

Survivors include three sons, James of Spotsylvania, Peter of Nevada, and Richard of Nevada; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services to be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
