Charles E. “Charlie” Carter, 65 of Spotsylvania County passed away on February 12, 2021 at home.
He was a lover of classic cars and you would often find him and his award-winning rat rod, Bad News, a 1931 Durant Coupe at car shows. If Charlie wasn’t at a car show, he was spending time with his family or competing for a win on trivia nights. He worked at Purvis Ford for 38 years. Charlie had a passion for history and collecting vinyl albums. He loved spending time by the ocean. But above all, he was a fiercely devoted husband, father, and friend who always seemed larger than life.
Survivors include his children, daughter Niki Carter (Gil Kerner) and Charlie-Colt Carter; grandson Finnegan Kenner; and three sisters, Virginia Chilton, Barbara Cropp, and Linda Carter Rose. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ellen Dale Carter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 6 at the Garden Room Banquet Facility, 321 Wallace St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
