On August 1, 2021 Clarence Ray Rodgers, 66, of Fredericksburg passed away at his home with his beloved dog Punk by his side. Born in Spotsylvania County he is the son of Catherine and the late Loyd Cleveland Rodgers.
Clarence worked at MWH and C&C Rodgers as a painter. He loved racing, Ford’s, his family, and their dogs, but most of all he loved life.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Penny; four sons Kevin (Jessica), Cleve (Wife Shelly), Keith (Jenny), and Jason Rodgers; seven grandchildren Taylor (Tyler), Justin (Kaitlynn), Dylan, Brianna, Cody, Kyrstin, Cayden; two great-grandchildren Shelby and Colt; his sister, Joyce Wedding; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also a beloved member of The Hitt Family and loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas, Lloyd, and Charles.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 6 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 7 at the funeral home chapel with Rev Dalton Lilly officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Following the burial the family would like to invite anyone who would like to join them in celebrating the life of Clarence Rodgers to the Spotsylvania Fraternal Order of Eagles, 5100 Jake Mcwhirt Ln Fredericksburg, 22408.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth and Chris Rodgers, Richard Jr, Ricky, and Tim Hitt Jr, Bruce, Marty, and Greg Wheeler.
