Clayton Frederick Redfern

Clayton Frederick Redfern, 58, of Fredericksburg passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home.

Clayton retired in 2019 with 35 years of service with USPS as a letter carrier at Turnpike Station in Fairfax. He was an avid fisherman, he liked nothing better than being in nature with his wife, Becky. Whether it was hunting, boating, or fishing on the Outer Banks or building furniture. It was the outdoors that brought him the most joy and contentment. He and Becky loved traveling together wherever the roads would take them.  

Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Mary (Becky) Gibson Redfern; mother Norma E. Redfern; brothers Eric Redfern (Gregory Bratsberg) and Steven Redfern; sister-in-law Denise Gibson; nephews Hunter, Liam and Camden Redfern, Christopher Gibson (Nicole) and George E. Shephard (Stacy); great-nephews Ethan, Cole Gibson and Liam and Eli Shephard; great-niece Erin Gibson; and some great friends who supported him, Tracy and Shawn, Bill and Cynthia, and Dean and Crystol as well as Heather, Dustin and Sarah who thought of Clayton as their uncle. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Redfern; maternal grandparents Harley and Mildred Evans; and paternal grandparents Frederick and Barbara Redfern.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation or Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in memory of Clayton F. Redfern.
