Daniel James Hildebrand, a man of unwavering devotion, has peacefully journeyed to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the age of 69. Known for his exceptional dedication and warmth, Daniel leaves behind a legacy of genuine connections and cherished memories.
For over three decades, Daniel dedicated his passion and expertise to Stafford County Parks and Recreation, where his commitment extended beyond professional duties. He cultivated enduring friendships, touching countless lives with his amiable nature. His genuine kindness knew no bounds—he welcomed everyone with open arms, fostering a community where strangers became friends and adversaries found common ground.
Daniel's devotion to his family and faith stood as pillars in his life. His unwavering love and support were constants that enriched the lives of those around him. Among his greatest joys were his grandchildren, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. His face would light up in their presence, and he was their source of endless stories, laughter, and unconditional love. His legacy of love and guidance will forever resonate in their hearts.
An ardent lover of the outdoors, Daniel found solace and joy in nature's embrace. Survivors include his loving wife, Katharine Grove; children Aimée Marie Yvette Hildebrand, Danielle Alexina Jeanne Hildebrand, Olivia Madeline Dobson (Thomas James Dobson), and Aaron Michael Hildebrand (Alicia Yolibeth Lynn Hildebrand); grandchildren Cash and Ava Phelix, Justin, Makenzie, Lorali, Savannah, and Noah Lane, Brody and Aurora Hildebrand, and Oaklynn Dobson; and siblings Diane J. Brooks (Douglas) and Dennis J. Hildebrand (Crystal). He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A. Hildebrand, Sr.; mother Jeanne M. Hildebrand; brothers Donald A. Hildebrand, Jr., Douglas E. Hildebrand, and David F. Hildebrand; and sister Mary Ellen Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
