David Edward Boothe

David Edward “Ed” Boothe, 82, of Stafford, Virginia, son of the late Dave and Virginia Boothe, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 surrounded by love in his home. 

Ed was a proud former United States Marine who loved his family, the Washington Redskins, and every dog he ever knew. He was a gifted athlete who played golf, baseball, and football, and served as a Little League coach.  Throughout his life, Ed had careers in HVAC repair, business ownership, and golf course maintenance, but he claimed to have never worked a day in his life. He was a member of The Loyal Order of the Moose, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Hacker’s Club.   

Survivors include his wife of almost 42 years, Allison; his girls, Robyn Boothe of Myrtle Beach SC, Cathy Gilbert (Ken) of St. Cloud FL, Karen Manuel of Woodbridge VA, and Amy Chambers (Chris) of Woodbridge VA; grandchildren Michelle Manuel, Dennis and Rose Testerman, Jarid Soldz, Abigail, Caroline, Alexander and Christian Chambers, Nic and Josh Gilbert, and Marie Gilbert Seefeldt; great-grandchildren Lillian Archie, Makenna Seefeldt, Tessa and Victor Fernandez, and Carson and Caroline Gilbert; brother Johnny Boothe (Karen); and many other loving extended family members. 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Boothe; and grandson Kaleb Soldz. 

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11 in Quantico National Cemetery.
