David Edwin Embrey, 75, of Bumpass passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1945 in Washington, D.C. 
 
David married the love of his life, Mary, on March 11, 1963. He loved her and his family more than anything in the world. Dave worked for PermaTreat for over 20 years and retired in 2004.  He was well known for his quick wit and humor and always made people laugh.  
 
David will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Mary; his children, Stacie Embrey, David Embrey (Tracy), Sandra Embrey; his grandchildren, Courtney Stahlman (Mitch), Earl “Ej” Cooper, Jr., Ryan Embrey (Krysta), Kyle Embrey, Jeremy Linkous, Brandon Linkous, Lauren Linkous, Wesley Linkous; great-grandchildren Pierce David Linkous, Abel James Linkous; his sister, Joyce Naughton (Ronnie), and his nephews, Ronnie Naughton (Glenna), Danny Naughton (Noreen) and Mike Naughton (Lou). He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Marjorie Embrey; his brother, Donald Embrey; and his niece, Sherry Naughton.  
 
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Ryan, Kyle, Jeremy, Brandon, Wes, and Ej. His granddaughters, Courtney and Lauren, will also walk with their PaPa to his final resting place.
