Dorothy Pearson Long

Dorothy Pearson Long, 88, of Stafford, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, at Dogwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Orange.

Mrs. Long was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up and attended school in Stafford County.  She was a registered nurse and a member of Fredericksburg Church of Christ. She was an avid horsewoman and dog breeder.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James G. Long Jr. and Debra Long of Browntown, Illinois, Michael and Mary Kate Long of Rileyville, Richard and Phyllis Long of Orange, and Kevin and Nanette Long of Rappahannock Academy; her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Gary Davis of Salem, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, June Murphy of Unionville and Betty Riggan of Chesapeake.

Due to the COVID pandemic, burial will be private, and a memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
