Dorothy "Dottie" Tarno

Dorothy “Dottie” Tarno, 93, of Spotsylvania County passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at her home.

She was born on February 24, 1928 in Bluefield, WV to John and Emma Hill. She has resided in Spotsylvania County since 1977.

Survivors include her two sons, Jim Burnopp (Donna Jane) and John Burnopp; three grandchildren Joy Burnopp-Martin (Ben), Jessica Burnopp (Wes Pouliot), and Ryan Harrell; five great-grandchildren Julia Osbey (D’Anté), Emily Martin, Benjamin Martin, Robert Martin, and Eli Pouliot; and two great-great grandchildren Mia Osbey and Drew Osbey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Tarno; sister Peggy Shrader; two brothers Ralph Hill and John Hill; and grandson Jay Burnopp and his wife, Debbie House-Burnopp.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 11 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, April 12 at Covenant Funeral Service Chapel, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
