Dowdell Gamblin

Dowdell Gamblin, 79, of Fredericksburg passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in Henrico County.

Dowdell was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and had a passion for fishing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He worked at the government printing office as a supervisor for 40 years. Dowdell was a member of Fredericksburg Church of Christ and also proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his sister Mattie Bailey and brother-in-law Joseph Bailey. He also leaves behind nephews Nate Stokes, Perry Stokes, Greg Eddy, Michael Eddy and Jeff Stokes; as well as nieces Janet Stokes and Cindy Gibbs; and other family members, Felecia V. Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Gamblin, and parents Alonzo Moore and Mary Gamblin.
