Dr. Padma Raghavan

Dr. Padma Raghavan, 70, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was the eldest daughter of her parents, N.S. Vijayaraghavachar and Ranganayaki V. Char.

Throughout her life, Padma was known for her vivacious and outspoken personality. She was the embodiment of resilience and strength, always bringing love and joy to those around her in spite of the obstacles that she encountered in her life. Her primary hobbies throughout her life were gardening, doll making, and designing jewelry. Additionally, she donated to cancer research, which was a cause that she was very passionate about.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Vijay Ragavan; son Dr. Deepak Raghavan; daughter-in-law Dr. Darshana Alle; and two grandchildren, Parth Raghavan and Avik Raghavan. She is also survived by her seven brothers and sisters, N.V.V Char, Ramanuja Iyengar, Narasipur Srinivasa, Srishyla Iyengar, Jaysri Kunnathur, Pannaga Prasad, and Vasantha Shashi.

She was predeceased by her sister, Komala Rajan.  

A funeral service and viewing will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Traditional Hindu Vedic funeral rites will be performed at 4 p.m.
