Eddie W. Fortune

Eddie W. Fortune of Fredericksburg, Virginia peacefully transitioned to his home in Glory to live with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 20, 2023 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Eddie was a hard worker who loved his family. He especially took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, telling them stories of his youth, making them laugh, spoiling them, and always telling them to do good in life. He never missed an opportunity to brag about their accomplishments or to show them off.  He will be greatly missed.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memories his six children, Lisa, Melissa (Lonnie), Sandra, Dwayne (Theresa), Karl (Jenny), and Dean; twelve grandchildren Eric Turner (Stasey), Lance and McKenna Stabler, Tony Fortune, Heather Moon, Karen Meadows, Caleb, Christopher and Hunter Fortune, Nikki James, Meaghan Wooten, and Ben Wooten; twelve great-grandchildren Donovan and Athena Turner, Anthony Bullock, Braiden and Bella Stabler, Tyler Moon, Brooke, Zailea, and Calla Fortune, Ariyah and Mya Meadows, and Ruger Fortune; one brother; and a host of nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley T. Fortune.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Rappahannock Indian Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest following the service at the church cemetery, 5595 Bradley Farm Rd Tappahannock VA 22560.
