It is with a heavy heart the family announces that Edgar “Ed” L. Watson, 92, of Fredericksburg passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023, while surrounded by his loved ones.
Ed was born on June 30, 1930, to the late Ralph and Beulah Watson, and was the eldest of 17 children. He was a Navy Veteran and later retired from the National Cash Register Company (IBM). Ed was an animal lover and stayed so very close to his dogs. He was a true sportsman to the very end. He had a true love for hunting and cherished the close bonds he made over the years with his fellow hunters. Ed was so very proud of his grandchildren and loved the time he spent with his great-grandchildren.
Imelda and the family wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sim and her team at Kaiser who were essential and very much appreciated for their level of care and compassion. The family also wishes to express their deepest gratitude to those very special Medi Home Health Hospice Care nurses and aides who were critical to providing care.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Imelda Watson; sons Ed Watson, Jr. and Gary Watson; daughter-in-law Josie; son-in-law Thomas; grandchildren Kyle (Brittany) and Bryce (Sierra); and great-grandchildren Brady, Baylor, and Bowen.
Ed will remain forever in our hearts.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 9:30am on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
