Edward Grandowski, 83, of Fredericksburg passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
Born on January 19, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Anna (Konrath) Grandowski, he resided in Cicero and Brookfield, IL. On August 11, 1962 he married Virginia Krickow and they resided in Lyons, IL until 1969 when they moved to Lemont, IL. He attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church. In 1988, they moved to Fredericksburg.
Edward was a Marine Corps veteran. He loved working in his yard, and especially his beloved pond; he always had projects around the house. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg and throughout the years he was on the Fellowship Committee, property management, and served as an usher. He also enjoyed couples bunco group. Ed worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors until he retired in September 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Krickow Grandowski; children Gary (Belle McVey), and Teri; Grandchildren Justin Grandowski (Erin), Drew Grandowski, Paige Grandowski, Arin Grandowski, and Joshua McVey; sister Ann Risdon (Michael); sisters-in law and brother-in-law Linda Gfeller, Eleanor and Jerry Roloff; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Anna Grandowski; son Kevin Grandowski; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Elaine and Edwin Holysz and Bernice and Elmer Wessel.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, August 3 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment will be private.
