Eleanor Cornthwaite Brookover, 93, of Stafford passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020.
Eleanor was a life-long Methodist and faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church for almost thirty years. She was employed by Prince William County Schools. She loved Bridge, boating, golfing, and traveling, though she hated flying. Eleanor was a long-standing member of Woodbridge Lions and Eastern Star. She was an avid fan of the Orioles, Nationals, and Redskins.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of sixty-three years, Robert S Brookover, Jr. She was also predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Henrietta Cornthwaite and by her brother, David Lloyd Cornthwaite, PhD all of Baltimore. She was also predeceased by her son, William and her grandson, Christopher.
She is survived by her son, Robert and daughter, Barbara, their spouses, Marion Brookover and Jack Cavalier, and by William’s spouse, Debra. Eleanor had eight grandchildren, Robert, William, and Corey; Christopher and Michael; and Andrew, Matthew, and Meredith Cavalier. Also, eight great-grandchildren, Rachel, Brittany and Levi Brookover; Emma, Abigail and Finn Brookover, and Lauren and Patrick McKeown.
