Faye Searle Johnson

Faye Searle Johnson, 86, of Fredericksburg, passed away June 27, 2020 at Mary Washington Hospital.

She was born to Clarence and Edith Searle on September 21, 1933 in Lawtey, FL and lived in Baltimore, MD for most of her childhood before moving to Thornburg, VA and graduating from Spotsylvania High School in 1951.  She worked for A&P and Safeway Stores in Fredericksburg, the Central Rappahannock Regional Library Bookmobile, Logetronics in Springfield, VA, and finally the Reserve Officers Association in Washington, DC, retiring in 1998.   

She  is survived by her children, Donna Johnson (Sandy) of Franklin, NC, Barbara Prasse (Robert) of Waynesboro, VA, Ginger Himes of Fredericksburg, and Woody Johnson (Jamie) of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren Brandon S. Johnson of Fredericksburg, Jen Johnson (Josh) of Knoxviille, TN, Sean Whitty of Norfolk, VA, Nick Randolph of St, Petersburg, FL and Bryce Johnson of St., Petersburg, FL; sisters Barbara Franklin (Jesse) of Fredericksburg and Terilyn Tyree (Wes) of High Point, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, William B. “Turkey” Johnson; her daughter Kathy Whitty; and siblings Robert, Dorothy and Bonnie. 

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes interred with her daughter Kathy J. Whitty at Signal Hill Memorial Park in Hanover, VA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to a charity of one’s choice.
