Florence Eleanor Douglas

Florence Eleanor Douglas, 92, of Spotsylvania County went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, February 17, 2020. After a courageous battle, she passed away peacefully at Fredericksburg Rehabilitation Center, in Fredericksburg.

Florence, nicknamed “Flo”, was born on June 21, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA. She attended Manhattan High School of Trade, where she learned to be a seamstress. Flo enjoyed going to church at St. Marks and living on 138th Street in New York, NY. Some of her hobbies included watching movies, window shopping, and window watching. Some of Flo’s favorite music legends included Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Luther Vandross, and anything Motown.

Flo was very loving, and felt her greatest accomplishments were her six children and their children.

Flo is survived by her kids, Ellamae Drayton and her husband Roosevelt Drayton, Jacqueline West and her husband Harold West, Janice Davis and her husband Tyler Davis, Linda Conrad and her husband Charles Conrad, Richard Williams and his wife Sabrina Williams, and Earl Williams. Flo also leaves her sister, Maude Douglas; her nephew, Michael Douglas. In addition, Flo also leaves her grandchildren, Kawana Harper, Jeffrey Jones, Keisha Echevarria, James Eversley, Desiree Williams, Alisha Terry, Tyrell Drayton, Dwayne Williams, Dominique Williams; and a host of other family and friends.

The Douglas family would like to thank you for your cards, flowers, condolences and kind expressions of sympathy shown following Flo’s passing. Your support at this difficult time is very much appreciated and a great comfort to all the family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 25 at Oak Hill Cemetery, 1902 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
