Francis Anthony “Frank” Lamonica, 76, of Spotsylvania County passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020. Frank was born in Johnstown, Pa. He served in the United States Navy and retired from USA Today newspaper as Press Supervisor.
Frank loved all sports and was an avid Pittsburgh fan. Family meant everything to him and he enjoyed every moment spent with them. Frank enjoyed fixing things around the house and always offered a helping hand to the family, as well as his neighbors.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon; daughters Michele Willingham (Keith), Gina English (Darrell), and Diana Lamonica (Patrick); son Tony Lamonica; grandchildren Brandon English, Johnny Willingham, Samantha Willingham, Dieon Roy, Devin Roy and Kendyll English; great-granddaughters Leighton and Isla Roy; sisters Mary Kay Yates (Leon) and Jennifer Lamonica; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Rose Lamonica and sisters Paulette Schively and Joey Martz.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 7 at Quantico National Cemetery.
