Frederick Scott Daniel

Frederick Scott Daniel, 62, of Albemarle County passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at his family-owned farm in Spotsylvania County. 

Frederick Scott Daniel, who went by Scott or Scotty, was the kindest person to walk on this earth. He would help anyone and everyone that needed it. He knew how to cheer up a room by telling a joke and enjoyed being around family and friends. He thrived off making people laugh and encouraging others to be the best version of themselves. 

While he started his career as a bricklayer, he then dedicated the next 41 years to working at the United States Post Office. While there, he worked as clerk and then additionally had the opportunity to serve as the vice president of the union up until his retirement. 

He found immense joy being in the great outdoors, anything from fishing to searching for four-leaf clovers made him so happy. Each hunting season, whether at his home, family farm, or at the Stony Point Hunt Club, he could be found sitting in a tree stand. He had such a passion for the sport and enjoyed sharing his experience and knowledge with anyone who would listen, but especially his brothers and his best friends. Each year when the weather started turning nice, he loved to gather with his friends at different local golf courses and participated in multiple tournaments each year. 

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Dawn Daniel; his two daughters, Brittney Yager and Sydney Daniel; his two brothers, James “JT” Daniel and Robert “Bobby” Daniel; three sisters Ellen Desper, Becky Daniel, and Penny Armentrout (Rich); along with his nieces and nephews, Christopher Desper (Megan) and their children, Easton and Brody, Courtney Murray (Mike), Fred Daniel (Maggie), Zach Armentrout, Scott Armentrout, and Elizabeth Armentrout. 

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Eugene Daniel and Agnes Cook Daniel. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Covenant Funeral Service, 10830 Patriot Highway Fredericksburg, VA 22408. A private service will be held at the family farm in Spotsylvania. He will be laid to rest there alongside his mother and father.
