George Owen Hussey

George Owen Hussey, 82, of Fredericksburg passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021. He was born on August 25, 1939 in Beaumont, Texas.

After George graduated high school, he joined the Navy as a Sailor, 17 years old, and retired after 26 years as an “Officer and a Gentleman.” During his Nay career he was an Air Traffic Controller on the “USS America.” After his retirement, he furthered his career as a consultant to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). George was also a 32nd degree Mason. He was active in ministries (Deacon, Sunday School Leader, and Men’s Bible Study) at Spotswood Baptist Church in Fredericksburg.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Norma; two daughters Lisa and Michelle; two sons David and Frankie; and nine grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will be held in Arlington national Cemetery at a later date.
