Ian Patrick Doughty

Ian Patrick Doughty, 38, of Fredericksburg VA, passed away on Monday March 16, 2020 at his home.

Ian was a loving and devoted father to his 4 children, which were his world. He had a contagious smile that could light up any room. You could always count on him to make everyone laugh. Ian was a die-hard Redskins, Capitals and Nationals fan! If you doubted any of them he would argue until the cows come home with you. He loved to fish, watch scary movies, listen to his podcasts, drink liters of Mountain Dew but most of all he loved spending time with his family and loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Danyele Doughty; his children Baylie Greene, Kiera, Colin and Reece Doughty; his parents Daniel and Mary Doughty; his brother and sister-in-law Will and Kristen Doughty; his sister and brother-in-law Siobhan and Steve Knaupp; nieces and nephews Jacob, Morgan, Owen, Taylor, Caiden, Evan and Kendall; as well as Christie Doughty, the mother of Baylie, Kiera and Colin. 

Ian is preceded in death by his great grandmother Eva Murphy, grandparents Berenice and Richard Halverson, grandparents Eugene and Jean Merkert, great aunt Joan Cleary, uncle Timothy Doughty and cousin Erin Doughty.

 A graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
