J. Lewis McAllister, Sr.

Johnny Lewis McAllister, Sr., 85, of Caroline County passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. He was born on February 28, 1936 in a little log cabin located in Cedon.

Lewis was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and he was the owner of J.L. McAllister Excavating.

Survivors include his children, Johnny Lewis McAllister, Jr. (Susan), Susan Lynn McAllister-Chewning (Chuckie), and William Ray McAllister (Stephanie); grandchildren Cody, Zoey, Jake, and Cheyenne; sister Evelyn Carter; and sister-in-law Susan Poff Wright (Aubrey). He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Poff McAllister; his parents, Ernest and Bessie McAllister; sister Cathleen Payne; sister-in-law Polly Williams; and nephew Douglas McAllister.

A service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Susan McBride officiating. The family will receive friend one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chuckie, Cody, Ray, Charles Ernest, Johnny, and Jake.
