Jack Highlander, 87, of Stafford County entered his heavenly home on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
Jack was a loving father who had a generous, kind heart. He loved nature and spending time outdoors watching the wildlife at his home. Jack also enjoyed watching and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Washington Nationals and the Washington Football Team.
His career included working at the FMC Sylvania Plant where he was a machine operator and mechanic for 25 years. Jack later retired from VEPCO (Dominion Energy), where he worked for 31 years as a mechanic.
Jack volunteered for the Special Police Force and was active in the PTA. He attended Ferry Farm Baptist Church.
He is survived by his four children, Roger Highlander (Linda), Barbara Blankenbaker (Roy), Brenda Newton (Mike), and Ricky Highlander; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Highlander; parents Anna Lee and Ephriam Highlander; brothers Ephriam and Bobby Highlander; and sister Patricia Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 27 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 28 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
