James Harrison Haga, Jr.

James Harrison Haga, Jr., 73, of Fredericksburg passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his residence.

Born on October 27, 1947, James was born and raised in the Fredericksburg area. He was a Stafford High School Graduate and later went on to be a substitute bus driver for the Public Schools in Stafford and King George Counties. He was a United States Air Force Veteran who served one year in Vietnam. He was a Driver/Mechanic at Southland Inc. / Mclane Mid-Atlantic in Fredericksburg for 40 years. He grew up and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Fredericksburg 218 for many years where he served as an usher and in the van ministry and was a certified Sunday School Teacher for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sylvia S. Haga; two sons, James H. Haga, III (Caren) of Wortham, Texas, and Gregory Haga of Fredericksburg; one daughter, Kimberly Haga of Fredericksburg; granddaughter Kaitlynn Haga also of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Sonny Haga (Rose) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Roger Haga (Gloria) of Fredericksburg; sister Donna Thorne (Jesse) of Grayson, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father James H. Haga, Sr.; and his mother, Violet A. Haga.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow is Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be James H. Haga, III, Gregory Haga, Luke Shelton, Wade Fox, Josh Chamberlain and Joey Chamberlain.
