James Motil

James Richard Motil, 51, of Spotsylvania County died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at his home. He had retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Connie L. Motil; his son, Jeffrey Motil, and a daughter, Jennifer Motil, both of Groton, Mass.; his mother, Thelma Motil of Barefoot Bay, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Stephanie Schroeder and her husband, Scott, of Lake Anna and Rebecca Carl of the home; a brother, Tim Motil of Florida; and a grandson, Scottie Schroeder of Lake Anna.

A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Jim Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
