James Allen “Jim” Scott, 53, of Fredericksburg died on Friday, March 2, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital.
James was born on September 2, 1965 in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Spotsylvania High School in 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast guard, serving as an engineer on the USCGC Conifer and the USCGC Point Camden while stationed in California. James was employed by M.C. Dean as an electrician and worked at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in D.C.
Survivors include his wife, Debora Scott; his parents, William and Leslie Scott; his brother, Steven (Theresa); and his devoted dog, Eisenhower.
A “Remembrance of Jim Scott” will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at the Fellowship Hall of Zion United Methodist Church at Spotsylvania Courthouse. Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery at a later date.
The family requests no flowers, but memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
