James E. Thomson, 78, of Stafford County passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at his home.
Jim was born on November 19, 1945, in Muleshoe, Texas. He graduated from Muleshoe High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Technological College in Lubbock, Texas. Jim furthered his education by earning a Master of Business Administration degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Navy and went on to retire at the rank of Lieutenant Commander (Supply Corps).
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley Thomson; children John Chandler Jones (Linda), Cynthia Gail “Cyndi” (Thomson) Scott, Gregory Scott Thomson; daughter-in-law, Christina Jones; grandchildren, Jonathan T. Scott, Charles D. Jones, Gracelin A. Jones, Kailee A. Jones, Madelyn A. Jones; siblings Patricia Alice “Pat” Thomson Hicks and Sharon Kaye (Thomson)
He is preceded in death by his parents, John William Pike Thomson and Ada D. (Alexander) Thomson; siblings William Emmett Thomson, Jon Ann (Thomson) Crow, George Linn “Wink” Thomson and son Russell David Jones.
A service will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Hull’s Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
