Janice D. Harcharek

Janice D. Harcharek, 82, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Jan was a native of Ellenburg, NY.  She graduated from Ellenburg H.S. and she worked for the Northern Adirondack school system until she relocated to Virginia in 1980 to wed John C. Harcharek. Jan worked at Universal Dynamics in Woodbridge, with a career spanning over 20 years. She started out in sales and worked her way up to the Human Resource Director and a Corporate officer. Jan served for many years with the Spotsylvania Lions Club. In her retirement she enjoyed going to yard-sales, spending time at the beach, and most of all decorating for Christmas.

She is survived by her five sons, Jay Yelle of Spotsylavania, Jeff Yelle of Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., Jerry Yelle of Spotsylvania, Jon Harcharek of Vanling, P.A., and Tom Harcharek of Stafford; brother-in-law Bob Harcharek of Barrow, Alaska;  10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five nieces; two nephews; 11 great nieces; three great nephews; and two great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and son David Harcharek.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
