December 11, 1952 ~ December 7, 2023 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Janis Leigh “Jan” Coble, 70, lost her long, hard-fought battle with cancer. She passed peacefully at home on December 7, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. Jan was a lifelong resident of Fredericksburg, a skilled cosmetologist, and entrepreneur. She owned and operated ‘Jan Tan and Hair Company’ and later, alongside her husband, Graham “Corky” Coble, ‘Corky’s’ in downtown Fredericksburg.

Jan’s proudest achievement was her family. She would go above and beyond to make every birthday and holiday special, despite her illnesses over the years. She was a fantastic cook and found joy in bringing everyone together through her love of traditions. You could catch her every Sunday morning making blueberry pancakes for the family.

Jan was a loving wife to her husband of 32 years, Corky. She was an amazing mother to her two daughters, Kelly Hunt and Laney Waldrep, her step-son Keefe Coble and step-daughter, Kyna Coble. She adored and spoiled her grandchildren, Gabriel Glowacki, Evan McConnell, Kiera Taylor and Caleb Coble. She recently became a great-grandmother to Emerson Glowacki.

Jan was an animal lover to her core. She loved spending time riding and competing with her horse, Cricket. She cherished her many Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that she has had over the years, most recently, Zoey.

Jan will be remembered for her kindness and ability to connect with people. She never met a stranger. She was friendly and kind. Her father is quoted as saying in a letter of love he wrote to her before he passed, that from birth and all through the years, she was “a sweet, quiet and beautiful person inside and out”.

May Janis Leigh Coble rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave throughout her remarkable journey on this earth. “There’s only one purpose we have in life on this earth. It’s giving and receiving love. Everything else is meaningless. We are spiritual beings having an earthly experience.”- Janis Leigh Coble

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hazelwild Farm Educational Foundation, in Jan’s memory. Donations may be made via their website www.hazelwildfarm.com.
